 ■ Technical Objectives

   → Application in demonstration projects for the decontamination of radioactive contaminated soil

   → Development and operation of a pilot-scale system for practical field application

   → Participation in decontamination projects involving radioactive contaminated soil and concrete waste generated during nuclear facility decommissioning

   → Enhancement of system design and performance through test operations and expert advisory input

  • Entered into a technology licensing agreement with the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI)
  • → Concluded a licensing agreement for the commercialization of environmentally friendly and high-efficiency radioactive soil decontamination technology based on magnetic nanoparticles

 ■ Magnetic Nanoparticle Types

   → For fine soil particles: Polyethyleneimine-coated γ-Fe₂O₃ (PEI-MNP)

   → For treatment of radioactive nuclides in washing wastewater: Magnetic nanoparticles composed of Fe₃O₄ and zeolite (2:1 mixture)

 ■ Performance

   → Fine soil separation efficiency: Removal of over 80% of clay and silt particles within 3 hours

  → Washing wastewater treatment efficiency: Removal of over 90% of radioactive nuclides within 1 hour
